User creation & moderation
Hey 👋
I am seeking clarification on the optimal setup for users & threads as we are implementing a Proof of Concept (PoC) on our platform.
Should users be created concurrently with the initiation of a group thread, involving only those directly participating? Or would it be more efficient to create users in advance importing our user base in Cord?
Concerning moderation within these threads, I would like to understand whether your platform supports built-in moderation features or rights management. Have you addressed similar requirements with other clients, and could you share any insights or best practices?
You are building an amazing product, thanks 👍️
Users can be created at any point. Groups are just a permission boundary for users. If you are dynamically creating a new group, you can add existing users to it, or create them and then add them. Most partners sync their users to us via REST API. It really is whatever works best for your code and application logic. We are flexible and we will dynamically update memberships and subscriptions for people as those memberships change.
We do not currently have any built in moderation. That said, we do have webhooks when messages are created. You can then receive them, moderate them, and adjust/delete them as needed via the API. We do have one other customer that I believe does this. Additionally, we have metadata on each thread and message so that you could mark a message as not yet moderated, filter it out in the UI (or show it differently) based on whether it has been moderated, and then with the webhook, send it to moderation which could mark it as moderated. We aim to make it easy for our flow to integrate into yours.
Thanks for the kind words :)
